Not official…or even in the works. But if Fender/Squier were to offer a Gnome Jazzmaser, this would be it. Typically my tastes in guitars scream 70’s rock – and this is no exception.
My Jag would share similar features as my Jazzmaster. 70’s cosmetics and a very thin nitro finish to nice and quickly. For both the jag and jazz I’m considering using the upper horn controls for a fuzz circuit. This finish is a brown stained walnut, but I’m thinking that I’d prefer just a straight brown finish.
Making the two previous models got me thinking. I dont really see a lot of guitars with a straight brown finish. I have a black Les Paul custom and looking at it, I think it’d look great brown. The above picture stemmed from that initial idea. Everything else is just tweaking. Three pickups, because why not? Its awesome. I can’t remember who I saw recently who has the pickup selector down at the bottom but I dig it, seems to clean up the look a bit. Maybe it was Billy Gibbons.
I’m not a huge fan of strats, I side with teles and its kinda obvious from my strat design. Using some of the design elements of my favorite strat from high school: Tom Delonge’s brown and orange strat – though his racing strip is on the upper contour. and a matching headstock, just because.
